A delegation of Panchayat officials of Bijapur district, led by Bijapur MLA Shri Vikram Mandavi, met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here this evening. The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for increasing the honorarium of the office bearers of Zila Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Gram Panchayats and for the provision of Zilla Panchayat Development Fund and Janpad Panchayat Development Fund Scheme. The delegation presented a wooden statue of the tribal Dol dance of Bastar to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel took information from the Panchayat officials regarding distribution of forest rights lease, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana and other government schemes, infrastructure construction and development works in Bijapur district. It is noteworthy that in the budget, the honorarium of Zilla Panchayat Presidents has been increased from Rs.15 thousand to Rs.25 thousand, that of Zila Panchayat Vice-Presidents from Rs.10,000 to Rs.15 thousand and that of Zila Panchayat members from Rs.6 thousand to Rs.10,000 per month. Similarly, honorarium of Janpad Panchayat Presidents increased from Rs.6 thousand to Rs.10 thousand, honorarium of Janpad Panchayat Vice-Presidents increased from Rs.4 thousand to Rs.6 thousand and that of Janpad Panchayat members from Rs.1500 to Rs.5 thousand and Sarpanch’s allowance increased from Rs.2 thousand to Rs.4 thousand.
