Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the progress of the scheme by taking a meeting of senior officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry Department on the occasion of transfer program under Godan Nyay Yojana at Chief Minister’s residence office this afternoon. The Chief Minister said that the use of vermi compost made from cow dung in Gauthans is yielding better results. The Chief Minister said that the farmers have accepted that the soil of agriculture is getting soft due to the use of organic manure. Due to this, it is getting easier in plowing the field and sowing of paddy in the current Kharif season. In addition to maintaining the quality of organic manure manufactured in Gauthans, the Chief Minister directed to prepare better quality insecticides and growth promoters from cow urine. The Chief Minister said that in order to promote cow-urine insecticide Brahmastra and growth promoter Jeevamrut among the farmers, the agriculture department should also ensure to demonstrate its use in crops. On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel released an amount of Rs. 5 crore 60 lakh online to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana, out of which Rs. 02 crore 17 lakh to cow dung vendors, Rs. 01 crore 37 lakh to self-help groups and Rs. 02 crore to Gauthan committees. 07 lakhs amounting to Rs. A total of Rs 311 crore 94 lakh has been paid so far under Godhan Nyay Yojana. The Chief Minister said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is the only scheme in the country and the world in which cow dung at the rate of Rs.2 per kg and cow urine at the rate of Rs.4 per liter is being procured. So far, dung worth Rs 155 crore 58 lakh has been purchased under this scheme. Rs 156.36 crore has been paid till date to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. 17 lakh quintals of vermi compost, more than 5 lakh 19 thousand quintals of super compost and 18 thousand 924 quintals of super compost plus manure have been manufactured by women groups. Through the societies, this produced manure is being made available to various departments of the government and farmers at a subsidized rate. The Chief Minister further said that by promoting organic farming in the state, the fertility of the land would improve. The cost of farming will come down and people’s health will be good due to availability of good quality non-toxic food grains. He said that all the goals for which the Godhan Nyay Yojana was started have been achieved in a very short time. The Chief Minister said that Godhan Nyay Yojana has become the pride of Chhattisgarh. This scheme is being appreciated across the country. In the coming time, more achievements will be achieved from this scheme.
