Women of Sai Baba Self Help Group of remote South Bastar Dantewada district of the state are preparing Gulal from cow dung under the guidance of scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Earlier, women had prepared Gulal from flowers and vegetables. Inspired by the path prepared by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for economic prosperity through cow dung, women have prepared herbal gulal from cow dung, which has been named ‘Gomay Herbal Gulal’. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has launched Gomay Gulal on 12th March at International Kisan Mela organized in the premises of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. Gomay Gulal is being sent for sale in different districts of Chhattisgarh. It is also being sold in stalls at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, NMDC Bailadila, Bacheli, Collected Campus, Dantewada, Raipur, along with it can also be purchased online. Dr. Narayan Sahu, senior scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, said that Gomay herbal gulal, processed Gomay (dung), processed vermi compost and turmeric, sandalwood, beet, catechu, arrowroot, aparajita, vermilion, henna and hand made of natural substances. Color combination. It is full of medicinal properties. It has anti-radiation, anti-bacterial properties. It is fragrant and provides coolness to the skin. Washes, cleanses the hair and skin. Eco Friendly and Human Friendly This gulal is totally eco friendly and human friendly. It is prepared at low cost for income generation of women which is made from pure cow dung. There are 20 women in the Sai Baba Self Help Group. By joining Krishi Vigyan Kendra, along with making gulal in different ways, the sisters of the group are very excited by making gulal from cow dung.
