Kumbh of tribal litterateurs from across the country is being organized in the capital city of Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate this three-day National Tribal Literary Festival being organized at Pandit Deendayal Auditorium from April 19. Tribal dance performance and art and painting competition will be organized in this festival. Apart from this book fair, exhibition of various departments will also be organized. In the National Tribal Festival being organized under the aegis of Tribal Research and Training Institute, enlightened persons, social leaders, litterateurs and art experts from different regions of the state are also being invited. Cultural programs will also be held on this occasion. Bastar Band performance, child artist Sahadev Netam and tribal dance will be the main attractions. Preliminary preparations have been started for this event. The objective of the festival is to introduce the traditional and contemporary tribal literature across the country and to know the status of their development in the modern context. Along with this, by providing a platform to the researchers, litterateurs, creators working in the field of tribal literature in Chhattisgarh, it is to motivate and encourage the preservation and promotion of tribal literature. Inviting established and budding litterateurs of various subjects related to tribal literature, there will be a discussion on literature and present situation in tribal tradition, tribal stories, tribal poems, ancestral literature etc. Tribal and non-tribal established and eminent litterateurs, creators, university scholars, research scholars, subject experts are being invited. Research papers will also be published. Art and painting competition will be organized under Sahitya Mahotsav. Apart from this, a live display of soil, bamboo, bell metal, wood, etc. will also be done under handicraft. Similarly, paintings depicting various types of tribal socio-cultural activities are also found on the walls, on the stones, which shows its rich culture. About 350 contestants will participate in this competition. Various dance forms of Chhattisgarh will be performed in the festival, including the tribal dances Shaila, Sarhul, Karma, Sondo, Kuduk, Dunda, Dussehra Karma, marriage dance (Hulki) performed in different tribal areas. Dances like Madai dance, Gavar Singh, Gedi, Karsad, Mandri, Dandar etc. will be performed. A book fair is also being organized in the festival. Book stalls have been arranged in the gallery of the inner premises of the auditorium. Apart from this, 30 stalls of demonstration cum sale are being set up. Stalls from various handicraft boards and Mati Kala boards of Chhattisgarh state will be set up at the venue. The items and materials created by these artists will be displayed and sold. Sanjeevani, Forest Produce and Forest Medicine, Exhibition of Tribal Painting, Gadkaleva, Bastariha Cuisine, Exhibition of Tribal Research and Training Institute, Exhibition of Departmental Schemes of Anty-Veteran Corporation, TRIFED etc. stalls will be set up.
