This year, a Sadbhavna camp will be organized for the prevention of untouchability at Motimpur in Magarlod. The decision has been taken unanimously in the meeting of the District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee on the prevention of atrocities on Scheduled Castes and Tribes, which was held under the chairmanship of Collector Shri P.S.Elma from 11 am today. In the meeting, Collector Mr. Elma asked for the compliance report of the previous meeting. The Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Development Department informed that in the year 2022-23, out of 27 cases received for the prevention of atrocities against scheduled castes and tribes, 19 were approved and in 10 cases an amount of Rs 21 lakh 33 thousand has been paid to the beneficiaries. Eight cases being related to other districts have originally been sent to the concerned Assistant Commissioner. Due to non-availability of State Bank of India account, payment could not be made under PFMS in nine cases. The Collector has stressed on ensuring that these nine beneficiaries complete the account opening process in SBI at the earliest. During the review of Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme, it has been told that in the year 2022-23, an amount of Rs.87 lakh 50 thousand has been approved in 35 cases. Seven and a half lakh rupees have been allocated from the government under PFMS, in which three couples have been paid seven and a half lakh rupees at the rate of two and a half lakh rupees. The Collector gave instructions in the meeting to send the demand letter again to the government for the allocation of the remaining 80 lakh rupees to benefit the beneficiaries.
