The East Singhbhum district has initiated a special awareness campaign against prohibited substances, as directed by the state government. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi flagged off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate premises to disseminate the message of drug-free living across the district. This chariot will tour various blocks, educating people about the adverse effects of substance abuse. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered an oath of abstinence to all officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that addiction harms not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health issues. The Deputy Commissioner urged every segment of society to participate in this campaign to create a drug-free society. He appealed to the public to actively engage in the campaign and to raise awareness among those around them about the dangers of drug abuse. The district administration aims to spread the message of freedom from addiction throughout the district through this campaign, encouraging everyone to stay away from its harmful effects. The special campaign will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, featuring various awareness programs to inform people about the consequences of drug abuse.
