Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, BJP MLA from Panki, Jharkhand, expressed his discontent after being denied a room at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. Despite confirming a booking for two rooms, he was informed upon arrival that only one room was reserved. His inquiries about other occupants and booking procedures were met with unsatisfactory responses. In protest, the MLA sat on the floor of the reception area and ate his breakfast there. He questioned the purpose of the Jharkhand Bhawan, built with significant government funds, if it couldn’t accommodate Jharkhand’s legislators. Mehta urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take action against those responsible for the mismanagement of the Bhawan and ensure accessible accommodation for Jharkhand MLAs. The modern Jharkhand Bhawan, inaugurated on September 3, 2024, boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including 50 guest rooms, suites for dignitaries, and VIP rooms. The seven-story building, constructed at a cost of over 100 crore rupees, also features 45 guest rooms, 18 suites, and 2 VVIP suites.
