State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. The new provision made by the Central Government for the elderly above 70 years of age in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme will benefit more than 50 thousand people in the state who are income tax payers. Apart from this, out of the four lakh 30 thousand pensioners of the state, about two lakh above 70 years of age will be included in the scheme.
In this way, about 2.5 lakh new beneficiaries of this age group will be added. This will also include those beneficiaries who were out of the scheme due to being above poverty line (APL). According to estimates, the number of people above 70 years of age in the state is about 35 lakh, who will get the benefit of the new provisions made in the scheme.
Insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per annum
In the new system, all the beneficiaries above the age of 70 years will be given a separate card, in which they will also get an additional insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per year. This amount will be in addition to the insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per year given to the family.
The card will be made on the basis of documents uploaded on the NHA portal
Officials of Ayushman Bharat Yojana Madhya Pradesh said that the names of the identified people will be uploaded on the portal by the National Health Authority (NHA). The process of making the card will start on this basis. The elderly will get this facility free of cost. The Council of Ministers of the Central Government has recently approved the scheme.
State government will make the card
Now the responsibility of making cards for the beneficiaries lies with the states. The NHA has sought data of beneficiaries falling in this age group from all the states. The State Health Authority (SHA) which runs the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state has sought information about people above 70 years of age from the Statistics Department.
This is the situation right now
There are 4 crore 70 lakh beneficiaries of 1 crore 20 lakh families in Ayushman Bharat Yojana running since 2018. There is treatment facility under the scheme in 549 private and 495 government hospitals of the state. A package of more than 1900 diseases has been prepared for treatment. Out of these, elderly people above 70 years of age also get benefit. No disease has been identified separately for them.
