The fire broke out from a gas cylinder kept in the canteen kitchen. When the employees present in the canteen saw flames rising from the cylinder, they panicked. This fire incident created panic in the PCC office.

The staff present in the kitchen tried to extinguish the fire by throwing wet sacks towards the cylinder and pouring water, but they failed. After this, the fire brigade was immediately informed.
