135 electronic interlocking systems have been installed in West Central Railway. Electronic interlocking systems are also installed at 45 railway stations in Bhopal division. Efforts are being made for digitalization and modernization in train operations.
Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal. The signaling system in West Central Railway is being upgraded at a rapid pace. A new type of interlocking system is being installed on different rail sections, and the old interlocking system is also being replaced.

Electronic interlocking is being adopted on a large scale to digitize and modernize train operations and to increase security. Computer based electronic interlocking system has been started at 45 stations in Bhopal division. Soon other stations of Bhopal division will also be equipped with advanced electronic interlocking system.
Electronic interlocking system will speed up the trains. Along with this, it can also be connected with Kavach technology as well as centralized traffic control system. System introduced in all three divisions
So far, electronic interlocking systems have been started at 135 stations in West Central Railway, which is capable of accurately controlling the movement of trains. West Central Railway is replacing all electrical signaling systems with computer-based electronic interlocking systems. In this, computer-based electronic interlocking systems have been started at a total of 135 stations so far, including 45 stations of Bhopal division, 45 stations of Jabalpur division and 45 stations of Kota division. Computer-based systems and electronic equipment have been used to control electronic interlocking signals, points and level-crossing gates.
