Amaravati erupted in political drama as YSR Congress Party unleashed a scathing attack on the TDP-JSP-Nationalist Congress Party alliance, alleging it scripted a deceitful address for Governor S. Abdul Nazeer.…

Amaravati erupted in political drama as YSR Congress Party unleashed a scathing attack on the TDP-JSP-Nationalist Congress Party alliance, alleging it scripted a deceitful address for Governor S. Abdul Nazeer. The uproar came during the joint session of the state legislature at the budget session’s kickoff.

YSRCP lawmakers, present under the guidance of party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, disrupted proceedings with slogans before staging a walkout. They decried the speech as packed with distortions, baseless accusations, and inflated figures aimed at tarnishing their past governance.

Taking center stage, MLA Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar mocked the address as recycled propaganda from pro-TDP media. He questioned the coalition’s priorities, asserting it shies away from real progress while hyping unattainable visions.

A key grievance: denial of main opposition status to YSRCP’s 11 MLAs, which the party views as a tactic to evade tough questions on mounting state debt—now at Rs 3.27 lakh crore in under two years. Chandrasekhar flipped the narrative, noting YSRCP’s corruption-free welfare delivery versus TDP’s depleted coffers upon exit.

Instead of rebuilding, the alliance is accused of prioritizing elite real estate deals in Amaravati and Vizag land grabs. YSRCP insists on formal recognition as leader of opposition, ready to engage constructively, and calls on the governor for justice.

The standoff signals escalating tensions ahead of key legislative battles, with YSRCP positioning itself as the true voice of public welfare against what it terms a debt-trap regime. Watch for more fireworks as fiscal policies come under the microscope.

In a swift response to rising political rhetoric, Andhra Pradesh authorities have slapped a criminal case on YSRCP firebrand Jogi Ramesh for his provocative statements against CM Chandrababu Naidu and…

In a swift response to rising political rhetoric, Andhra Pradesh authorities have slapped a criminal case on YSRCP firebrand Jogi Ramesh for his provocative statements against CM Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh. The Ibrahimpatnam police acted on a TDP leader’s complaint, marking yet another flashpoint in the state’s charged political landscape.

Tensions boiled over when TDP workers retaliated by storming Ramesh’s home on Sunday. Protesting his barbs, the group tore down posters, forced entry, ransacked the interior, and ignited fires inside. YSRCP alleges petrol bombs were hurled, intensifying claims of orchestrated violence. Fortunately, Ramesh was away, arriving only after midnight.

This wasn’t an isolated event. Just prior, on Saturday evening, a TDP mob targeted Ambati Rambabu’s property over his slurs against Naidu. The furious crowd wrecked his office, home, and cars, with some vehicles reduced to ashes. While YSRCP cried foul over an assassination bid, Rambabu found himself in custody.

Charged with disrupting public order, unlawful assembly, and provocative language that stirred unrest, the former minister was hauled before a court and jailed for a fortnight in Rajamahendravaram. Police actions underscore efforts to curb the cycle of inflammatory speeches fueling mob violence.

As Andhra’s ruling TDP-led coalition grapples with opposition backlash, these incidents signal deepening divisions. With FIRs flying from all sides, the state machinery is under scrutiny to maintain law and order amid this partisan frenzy. Political observers warn that without de-escalation, such confrontations could spiral into broader chaos.

Vijayawada’s political scene heated up as YSRCP stalwart Jogi Ramesh issued a grave warning against TDP heavyweight Nara Lokesh, declaring his family under imminent danger from the minister. In a press conference at his Ibrahimpatnam home, the ex-minister held Lokesh responsible for any future mishaps, citing a violent petrol bomb assault on Sunday.

The attack, allegedly masterminded by Lokesh and executed by MP Kesineni Chinni with TDP mobs, unfolded with police complicity, Ramesh charged. Activists stormed his residence, lobbing incendiaries to kill him and instill fear in his household. He portrayed this as a desperate bid by the ruling TDP to muzzle criticism of administrative lapses and cow BC representatives in opposition ranks.

Drawing on his faith in Venkateswara Swamy and allegiance to Jagan, Ramesh refused to be cowed by smears against his party chief. He highlighted the mobilization of hundreds for the raid, decrying it as an affront to democratic norms and backward classes’ rights.

Authorities have ignored his evidence and suspect lists, instead targeting him with FIRs. Police sided with assailants while his kin—father, wife, son—cowered indoors, he revealed. This pattern of selective enforcement raises alarms about law and order under TDP rule.

As Andhra braces for more confrontations, Ramesh’s allegations spotlight the perils opposition leaders endure, potentially galvanizing public discourse on governance and safety.

An on-duty police constable was slapped by the cousin of Andhra Pradesh Minister BC Janardhan Reddy Badha during the inauguration of a temple in the Nandyal district. The incident, captured on video, has gone viral on social media. The event took place at the newly opened Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Kolimigundla Mandal. Sub Inspector Jaswanth Kumar, while on duty, reportedly prevented Bobbala Madana Bhupal Reddy, the Minister’s cousin, from entering a restricted area. Following the confrontation, Reddy allegedly verbally abused and physically assaulted the constable in public. Kolimigundla police have filed a case, leading to Bhupal Reddy’s arrest. Minister BC Janardhan Reddy condemned the actions, stating that he instructed officials to take legal action. The YSR Congress Party has criticized the incident, expressing concerns about the state of law and order.

Amaravati: YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that the party will organise its plenary meeting next year in a grand and energetic manner. Reddy asserted that Chief…

Amaravati: YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that the party will organise its plenary meeting next year in a grand and energetic manner. Reddy asserted that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has allegedly dragged politics to its lowest level through corruption, broken promises, and mafia entanglements, and that people will never vote him back to power. “We will hold a grand plenary next year as people have seen through Chandrababu’s lies and corruption and will reject him for his failed governance,” said Reddy in a release on Wednesday. The former CM urged party leaders to work hard in their respective districts, connect with the cadre, and mobilise grassroots support by highlighting the government’s unkept promises. Reddy claimed that the NDA coalition has failed on every front, adding that it scrapped the erstwhile YSRCP government’s welfare schemes and failed to deliver on its promises, leading to public anger.
He alleged that prime land worth thousands of crores is being handed over at throwaway prices, citing the allotment of land valued at Rs 1,500 crore to Lulu Group for just Re 1 and a similar Rs 3,000 crore allotment to another company.

Live Events
He accused the government of “burdening” the public by purchasing power at Rs 4.60 per unit, compared to Rs 2.49 per unit during his tenure, which he said was meant to benefit farmers. Citing constituency-level issues, he claimed that TDP leaders allegedly demanded commissions for basic work, reflecting ‘deep-rooted corruption’ under the current administration.
He further said that party workers should focus on booth-level strengthening and expose Naidu’s governance “failures” ahead of the next elections.
