Airtel, the second-largest telecom company in the country, has discontinued its Rs 249 prepaid plan, impacting users seeking affordable daily data options. This move mirrors a similar decision by Reliance Jio. The Rs 249 plan provided users with 1GB of high-speed data per day, along with 100 SMS messages daily and unlimited voice calling. Subscribers also enjoyed complimentary access to Xstream Play, Perplexity Pro AI, and free HelloTunes. The plan offered a validity of 24 days and included free AI access until January 2026. With the Rs 249 plan no longer available, users will now need to opt for the Rs 299 plan for similar benefits.
