Apple is reportedly planning to release a more affordable MacBook, potentially easing the financial burden for potential customers. Sources suggest the upcoming MacBook could feature an A-series iPhone chipset. According to a DigiTimes report, this budget-friendly MacBook may incorporate the A18 Pro processor, the same chip expected to be used in the iPhone 16 Pro. By using the A-series chipset instead of the M-series, Apple aims to reduce costs and make the MacBook accessible to a wider range of consumers, potentially pricing it around ₹50,000.
**Apple MacBook Price Expectations**
The anticipated price for the Apple A-series MacBook is expected to be around $599 (approximately ₹52,370) or $699 (approximately ₹61,113). If the upcoming MacBook is launched at this price, it would become the most affordable MacBook in Apple’s lineup. Current-generation M4 MacBook models currently start at ₹99,990. This marks the first time Apple is preparing to introduce a laptop at an economical price point in the mid-range segment.
**Strategies for Cost Reduction**
The report also details potential specifications, such as a 12.9-inch screen instead of the usual 13.6 inches. The use of an A-series chipset instead of an M-series, along with a smaller screen size, would contribute to the reduced cost. The upcoming MacBook could be offered in silver, blue, pink, and yellow colors. While the use of an iPhone chipset might seem like a downgrade, the A18 Pro is a powerful processor that outperforms the M1 chipset in benchmark tests. Apple is expected to optimize the A18 Pro for the MacBook, further enhancing performance. Consumers can expect similar long battery life, akin to the M-series devices, with this new affordable MacBook model.
