BRICS Industrial Ministers’ Meeting Highlights MSME Growth and Green Energy

The recent BRICS Industry Ministers' conference in Jaipur, chaired by India, placed a spotlight on the role of micro, small and medium enterprises in the bloc's industrial agenda. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized that MSMEs are the backbone of manufacturing competitiveness and must receive targeted support.

Key discussion points included scaling up startup innovation, expanding clean‑energy cooperation, and developing a technology‑enabled logistics ecosystem. Goyal argued that these pillars are essential for achieving sustainable industrial development and creating high‑quality employment.

A joint declaration, titled the BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution, was adopted by all participants. It outlines concrete steps to deepen collaboration in industrial innovation, renewable energy, logistics optimisation and resilient manufacturing networks.

Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, India committed to translating dialogue into measurable outcomes, ensuring that the BRICS partnership drives inclusive growth and environmental stewardship for all member nations.
