While the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Air models garnered attention for their advanced features and premium build, the standard iPhone continues to be the entry-level offering. Despite a ProMotion display and the A19 chip, it doesn’t stand out significantly, maintaining the same design language as its predecessor.
Given its premium price point, the question of value arises. Several Android alternatives offer a flagship experience at a competitive price.
Google Pixel 10:
This device delivers a premium Android experience, comparable to high-end phones. Its standout feature is the camera system, comprising a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto camera. The 5x optical zoom telephoto lens provides an advantage that the iPhone 17 lacks.
Apple’s shortcomings in AI innovation are apparent. While Apple highlights features like Liquid Glass and Apple Intelligence, they fall short compared to the full suite of Gemini AI capabilities available on the Pixel 10.
Samsung Galaxy S25:
The Galaxy S25 benefits from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip, surpassing Apple’s A19 and Google’s Tensor chip in performance. This makes the S25 a powerhouse for gaming, multitasking, and productivity.
The S25 also boasts a triple camera setup, including a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a feature absent in the iPhone 17.
OnePlus 13R:
Featuring a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, the OnePlus 13R is larger than the iPhone 17, Pixel 10, and Galaxy S25. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for media consumption and daily use.
It includes the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip for demanding tasks. Its triple-camera system includes a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. With an 80W fast charger, it can provide up to two days of battery life.
Nothing Phone (3):
For users preferring a different aesthetic, the Nothing Phone 3 could be an option. However, its older processor and unconventional design make it less competitive in this segment.
