Digital Platform to Modernize India's Drug Regulation Announced

The Drug Controller General of India, Dr Rajiv Singh Raghvanshi, announced that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization will launch the first phase of an end‑to‑end digital drug regulatory platform within 18 months. The initiative is designed to streamline approval processes, enhance data transparency and improve real‑time monitoring of drug safety.

Health Minister JP Nadda emphasized that the digital platform will underpin a future‑ready regulatory system, capable of accelerating innovation while safeguarding patient health. The move aligns with the broader vision presented at the Global Drug Regulatory Conclave 2026, where India seeks to set new standards for efficiency and collaboration in the pharmaceutical sector.
