EPFO Rolls Out UPI Direct Transfer and WhatsApp Services for Members

The EPFO has completed testing of a new digital facility that allows provident fund amounts to be transferred directly to a member’s bank account via UPI. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to make EPF services faster, simpler, and more convenient. Within the next month, the organisation will also launch WhatsApp‑based member services. By sending a simple "Hello" to a verified EPFO number, members can initiate a chat, view their PF balance, retrieve details of the last five transactions, and track the status of their claims. The service will support multiple Indian regional languages, enhancing accessibility for a diverse user base.
