Finance Ministers Align State Plans with India’s 2047 Development Vision

The Bharat Mandapam in the national capital hosted a conference on September 19 titled “Financing India’s Journey Towards a Developed India.” The forum featured Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Maharashtra Finance Minister Ashish Jaiswal, and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatty Vikramark.

Sawant asserted that when the centre and states share a common outlook, the transition to a developed state—and ultimately a developed nation by 2047—becomes smoother.

Participants exchanged ideas on best‑practice adoption, fiscal reforms, export‑import regulation, and easing business operations. Each minister contributed viewpoints on catalysing regional economic growth.

The Goa chief minister praised the conference for delivering actionable guidance across sectors, especially agriculture and export, and lauded Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s initiative as a catalyst for building a rapid‑action roadmap for the Prime Minister’s 2047 target.

Maharashtra’s finance chief highlighted that the two‑day dialogue seeks to link every state’s development agenda with the central roadmap, focusing on judicious use of financial resources and directed capital inflows across ministries.

He also reflected on the outcomes of the recent BRICS summit, emphasizing its significance in establishing a new global balance and offering alternative cooperation frameworks.

Telangana’s deputy chief minister reiterated the state’s ambition of achieving a $3 trillion economy by 2047, outlining a three‑sector model—urban, sub‑urban, and rural‑agricultural—to integrate industry, software, AI, core manufacturing, and agri‑based value‑added sectors into the growth plan.
