Google recently rolled out a new update to its Google Phone app. Following this update, the call screen design has changed on the phones of millions of Android users. While some users are liking this new interface, others are complaining about it on social media. If you are one of those people who preferred the old dialer look, then don’t worry. We’ll show you an easy setting with which you can get the old design back.
### Call Screen Design
Google recently introduced the Material 3 Expressive Redesign with Android 16. Due to this update, the new dialer look has become active. This change happened through a server-side update, meaning you didn’t have to download a large update for it. The call interface of the phone changed on many users’ phones without any notification, which caused them to be upset.
### How to get the old call screen?
If you don’t like the new call screen design, you can easily get the old interface back by following the steps below. You won’t have to do much for this. You just need to go to the Settings of your phone. Select the Apps or See all apps option. After this, click on the Phone/Dialer app option from the list.
Click on the three-dot menu visible on the top right side. Here you will see the Uninstall updates option. Click on it. After doing this, your phone will be set to the factory version of the Google Phone app. After which the old call screen will start appearing again.
### Keep these things in mind
This process may delete your call history or some custom settings. Therefore, make sure to take a backup first. To prevent the new look from updating again, disable Auto-Update in the Google Play Store. Whenever you want to update something new, keep doing it from the Google Play Store from time to time.
