Google is discontinuing its popular URL Shortener service. This tool, which helps users create shorter links for easier sharing across platforms, will cease functioning on August 25, 2025. The company initially announced its intention to shut down the platform in 2018 and last year confirmed that shortened links created through Google URL Shortener would eventually stop responding. This change is now imminent.
After August 25th, the goo.gl links will become non-functional, resulting in 404 error pages. This error typically occurs when a requested webpage cannot be found.
