Government Allocates ₹84,084 Cr for Deepwater Oil and Gas Mission

The cabinet approved the "Samudra Manthan" national offshore exploration plan with a budget of ₹84,084 crore, to be implemented up to the fiscal year 2030‑31. This is the most ambitious offshore hydrocarbon mission in India's history, aiming to tap deep‑water fields and reduce the country's dependence on imported energy.
