Government Backs 15,000 Schools and 500 Colleges for Creative Tech Training

In a move to strengthen the nation's creative workforce, the government has announced financial assistance for Indian Institutes of Creative Technologies and AVGC Creator Labs located in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges across the country.

The initiative aims to equip students with practical skills in animation, visual effects, game development and comic creation, aligning academic output with market demand.

Minister Dr. L. Murugan emphasized that a skilled talent pool is essential for sustaining the projected growth of the creative economy, which is expected to generate a turnover of $100 billion by 2030.

The support package includes infrastructure upgrades, faculty training, industry‑led workshops, and access to cutting‑edge software tools.

By fostering a strong pipeline of creators, the policy seeks to transform India from a content consumer nation into a global exporter of intellectual property and digital media.
