Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal held extensive discussions with more than 1,000 industry representatives in New Delhi on Wednesday, imploring them to seize the transformative prospects from India's burgeoning FTA landscape. Posting on X, Goyal laid out a roadmap: prepare rapidly, explore untapped markets, elevate 'Brand India', boost quality and productivity, and sharpen global edges. Drawing from PM Modi's blueprint, he rallied for unified action in innovation, energy savings, logistics overhaul, R&D investments, and a solid export framework to achieve 'Developed India 2047'. The day before, Goyal led the India-Chile Trade Roundtable with Chilean counterparts, focusing on synergies in vital minerals, processed foods, health services, renewable energy, tech sharing, and frontier areas via their CEPA pact. 'Our talks uncovered thrilling prospects under India-Chile CEPA to fortify relations and open doors for sectoral expansion benefiting enterprises and citizens alike,' the minister remarked. Goyal recapped key wins over the past fortnight: export incentives rollout, FTA negotiation advances, and high-level talks with international firms like Airbus, L'Oréal Group, Carrier, and LVMH to amplify India's manufacturing prowess. Notable achievements included Assam's district-specific honey exporting to America for the first time and the fruitful second round of India-Canada CEPA negotiations. The government also convened sessions on FTA progress, export strategies, and SPS clearances to propel Indian farm and seafood into international arenas.
