AI Green Points System Launched by Gujarat for Sustainable Living

Gandhinagar, 24 September – A new artificial‑intelligence based mobile application has been launched by the Gujarat government to encourage and track citizen contributions toward a cleaner environment. The AI Green Citizen Score app, created by Gujarat Informatics Limited, logs actions such as tree planting, waste segregation, recycling, plastic collection, water preservation, walking, cycling, public transport usage, and car‑pooling.

Every eligible activity is submitted through the app and undergoes AI‑assisted verification. Where necessary, users may be asked to upload a photograph or share their location to confirm the activity’s authenticity. Verified entries earn green points that accumulate in a personalized Green Citizen Score.

The AI Green Assistant embedded in the platform provides users with real‑time information on ongoing environmental campaigns, point allocation rules, and best practices for sustainable living. An activity history feature allows users to monitor the status of each submission and view total points earned.

A public leaderboard showcases top performers, turning environmental stewardship into a friendly competition. According to Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia, the tool is intended to make eco‑friendly habits measurable and rewarding.

Secretary P. Bharti added that the digital system aims to simplify participation, make contributions measurable, and inspire everyday citizens to incorporate sustainable practices into their daily routines, thereby advancing Gujarat’s vision of a greener future.
