Joshi warned that achieving the 500‑gigawatt non‑fossil target by 2030 will require more than ₹30 lakh crore in fresh capital over the next five years. He stressed that a large share of the funding must be mobilised through Indian financial institutions, capital markets, insurance funds, infrastructure investors and private equity, making Mumbai a central hub for clean‑energy financing.
