India boosts humanitarian aid as Nepal battles flood‑triggered landslides

In the wake of the catastrophic floods that swept across northern and central Nepal, India has stepped up its humanitarian response.

Indian Air Force aircraft have air‑dropped relief kits, rescue equipment and medical supplies to Kathmandu. Specialized rescue teams equipped with mud‑rescue suits, gas detectors, portable generators and inflatable walkways are also on the ground.

DNA kits, reagents and profiling tools have been supplied to assist in victim identification. To date, more than 13,700 people have been rescued, while 339 remain under hospital care.

The coordinated effort underscores India’s pledge to support Nepal not only in energy but also in emergency relief and disaster management.
