India‑Germany Chamber Highlights New Manufacturing Targets Ahead of 2030
The Indo‑German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), representing over 2,500 member companies, underscored India's ambitious manufacturing targets at its 2026 dialogue. Under the "Developed India 2047" framework, the country aims to raise electronics and semiconductor production to $500 billion by 2030.
Bhatia noted that the long‑standing strategic partnership between India and Germany—spanning more than 25 years—provides a solid foundation for achieving these goals. Trade ties between the two nations date back over a century, with several German firms operating in India even before independence.
The chamber expects a surge in German investment as Indian reforms simplify procedures and improve the business climate. The D‑Regulation Cell's collaboration with states is expected to cut unnecessary procedures, making India more attractive for overseas manufacturers.
Achieving the $500 billion benchmark will create a cascade of new manufacturing jobs, boost exports, and solidify India's position in global supply chains.
The long‑term objective remains a $5.3‑$8 trillion electronics and semiconductor industry by 2047, a figure that reflects the government's confidence in sustained growth and international cooperation.
