A week of volatility marked India’s gold and silver markets. The combination of a robust dollar, higher U.S. Treasury yields and unchanged Fed rates trimmed gold’s weekly gain to a 1.15% loss, while silver fell 2.88% over the same period. The 10 g gold price (999 purity) closed at ₹1,42,860 on Friday, compared with ₹1,44,532 on Monday. Silver’s price slipped to ₹2,18,295 per kilogram from ₹2,24,771.
Analysts point to easing but still‑present U.S.–Iran tensions, modest oil‑price softness and persistent inflation fears as factors that kept safe‑haven demand under pressure.
