Indian toy exports surge to $384.7 mn in 2025‑26, driven by quality reforms

Government data released on Tuesday shows that Indian toy exports have jumped from $152.7 million in FY 2017‑18 to $384.7 million in FY 2025‑26 – a rise of more than 150 percent. The growth is attributed to stronger domestic demand, supportive policies, traditional craftsmanship, and rising global acceptance of Indian toys. Exports under HS 9503 (electronic and non‑electronic toys) climbed to $200.89 million, with the United States remaining the largest market, followed by the United Kingdom, Poland, the Netherlands and Germany. Exports of video‑game consoles (HS 9504) and festive‑type products (HS 9505) also recorded substantial increases, underscoring the sector’s expanding footprint.
