IndiGo Increases Domestic Service Fees: Infant, Unaccompanied Minor, and Extra Bag Costs

IndiGo has disclosed a fresh set of price hikes for several ancillary services on its domestic flights across India. While the airline maintains that seat fares are unchanged, travelers will need to budget for higher fees on a number of optional features.

The infant surcharge has been lifted to ₹3,000 for babies up to two years traveling with a paying adult, replacing the earlier ₹2,000 charge. Only one infant per adult is permitted, and the child must be held on the adult’s lap throughout the flight. The fee is payable at booking and may be verified at the gate.

Excess baggage pricing now stands at ₹800 per kilogram, up from ₹700. This means each kilogram over the free allowance incurs an additional ₹100 charge.

The unaccompanied minor service, intended for children traveling without a guardian, will cost ₹5,999, an increase from ₹5,000. The service is still governed by IndiGo’s specific eligibility rules.

Priority check‑in and boarding, previously offered together for ₹450, are now bundled at ₹650. Travelers opting for this convenience will pay an extra ₹200.

Finally, the issuance of a travel certificate has been priced at ₹300, up from ₹200. These adjustments are expected to affect the overall travel budget of passengers using IndiGo’s domestic network.
