July FPI Inflows Reach 15,156 Crore Rupees Amid Positive Macro Trends
Foreign portfolio investors have amassed a total of 15,156 crore rupees in India during the first half of July, according to market specialists. The inflow consists of 5,155 crore rupees deposited between July 1 and 10, followed by an additional 10,001 crore rupees classified under “primary market and others.” The surge reflects a broader shift toward debt assets, with 3,228 crore rupees entering via the General Limit and 6,619 crore rupees through the Fully Accessible Route (FAR). Experts attribute this growth to India’s improving macro‑economic indicators and a stable currency, which together have increased confidence among global investors. The trend is further supported by weaker chip‑trade activity in other regions, prompting investors to rotate funds into Indian equities and bonds.
