Mahindra Reports 26% YoY Growth, EV and Three‑Wheeler Gains
Mahindra & Mahindra posted an impressive 103,860 vehicle sales figure for July, translating to a 26% year‑on‑year increase. The company’s SUV segment led the charge, with domestic SUV deliveries climbing to 60,048 units – a 20% rise – and total SUV shipments, including exports, reaching 60,887 units.
Commercial vehicle sales also accelerated, registering 25,204 units, up 23% from the previous year. Light commercial vehicle sales under two tonnes surged 40% to 3,870 units, while the 2‑3.5 tonne LCV category grew 21% to 21,334 units. Three‑wheelers, which now incorporate electric models, posted a 53% jump to 14,538 units.
The cumulative performance since January shows Mahindra’s SUV volume at 234,793 units – a 16% improvement over the same period last year – and three‑wheeler shipments rising to 50,793 units, a 69% increase.
Mahindra’s automotive division chief Nalinikant Gollagunta attributed the SUV surge to renewed consumer preference for higher ground clearance and robust design, while the rise in electric three‑wheelers highlighted the company’s commitment to clean‑mobility solutions.
Together, these figures point to Mahindra’s balanced growth across premium SUVs, commercial trucks, and emerging electric mobility segments.
