Nadella highlights need for open and closed AI models to coexist

Satya Nadella emphasized that the future of artificial intelligence depends on a hybrid ecosystem where open‑source and closed‑source models develop together. He stressed that safeguarding AI begins at the design stage, embedding safety evaluators and regulatory mechanisms from the outset. Nadella also underlined Microsoft’s commitment to providing enterprises with extensive reach, control over their learning processes, and a clear code of conduct for AI use.

The remarks align with warnings from other tech CEOs, including Sam Altman and Elon Musk, who have urged a cautious tempo for superintelligent AI research. Nadella’s call for inclusive collaboration aims to keep AI development accountable and balanced across the global community.
