New Bullet Train Corridor to Reduce Travel Time Between Economic Hubs

The upcoming Mumbai‑Ahmedabad bullet train corridor will slash travel time between two of India's most dynamic commercial centres. When the Surat‑Bilimora segment opens on August 15, 2027, passengers will experience a dramatic reduction in journey duration, with the full 508‑kilometre line eventually offering a swift, high‑speed alternative to road and conventional rail.

The project, now 80 per cent complete, underscores the government's push for modern infrastructure. Each subsequent phase—covering Vapi‑Surat, Vapi‑Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad‑Surat and Ahmedabad‑Mumbai—will further tighten the travel gap, making daily commutes and business trips more efficient.

Economic analysts anticipate that the corridor will act as a catalyst for growth, attracting investment, boosting tourism, and enhancing the overall productivity of the western corridor.
