OpenAI has introduced GPT-5, its advanced AI model. The company claims it’s faster, more accurate than previous versions, and capable of providing safer and more responsible answers to sensitive or harmful questions. Notably, seven major features of GPT-5 are accessible to all ChatGPT free users.
1. Nano and Mini Versions: GPT-5 will now determine the most suitable model for a given prompt. Alongside, two lighter, lower-cost versions—GPT-5 Mini and GPT-5 Nano—have been launched. Free and Plus users will have access to these models upon exceeding their limits.
2. Your Personal Coder: During a live demo, the company demonstrated that GPT-5 could create an interactive web app within minutes from a simple text prompt, simplifying and accelerating coding tasks.
3. Deep Research and Advanced Reasoning: GPT-5 provides free users access to an advanced reasoning model capable of gathering extensive data and performing analysis up to a PhD level.
4. New Personality Option: Users can interact with GPT-5 in their desired style, with four preset personalities: Cynic, Robot, Listener, and a new one, selectable to match personal preferences.
5. Improved Voice Mode: GPT-5 can adjust its speaking style according to your tone and instructions, making voice interactions more natural and effective.
6. Gmail and Google Calendar Integration: This feature connects GPT-5 directly to your Gmail and Google Calendar, allowing it to read emails, schedule appointments, and manage tasks. Initially, this feature will be available to Pro users the following week.
7. Chat Customization: You can now set color themes for different chats, making conversations easier to organize and recognize.
This upgrade to GPT-5 brings significant changes not just in speed and accuracy but also in personalization, automation, and productivity. If OpenAI’s claims hold true, ChatGPT users’ experience will become more seamless and powerful in the future.
