Financial Support Surpasses ₹5,300 Crore for Craftsmen via PM Vishwakarma
Credit assistance remains a cornerstone of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. So far, more than 6.19 lakh loans have been approved, amounting to a cumulative disbursement of INR 5,316 crore. These loans are designed to facilitate raw‑material procurement, equipment upgrades and business expansion for traditional artisans.
The financial backing is complemented by a digital incentive pool exceeding INR 42 crore, distributed among 8.11 lakh beneficiaries to promote the use of digital payment systems and online sales channels. Together, these monetary measures aim to reduce the capital constraints that have historically limited the growth of India's craft sector.
By bridging the financing gap, the scheme empowers artisans to scale operations, innovate product lines and compete in both domestic and international markets.
