PM‑DDK First-Year Review Highlights Score Surge and Farmer Collaboration

New Delhi, 10 October – As the Prime Minister’s Dhan‑Dhan‑Kisan (PM‑DDK) scheme turns one on 11 October 2026, officials released a fact sheet that outlines rapid progress across the programme’s hundred aspirational districts.

The scheme’s objective is to catalyse growth in agricultural productivity, irrigation reach, credit availability and post‑harvest infrastructure by addressing district‑specific challenges. The central cabinet gave the six‑year programme the green light on 16 July 2025, and the Prime Minister inaugurated it on 11 October 2025.

Implementation hinges on coordination among 36 central programmes from eleven ministries, state government schemes and private‑sector stakeholders. This collaborative model allows interventions to be finely tuned to local agricultural needs. A live dashboard was introduced in the last week of October 2025, and monthly output indicators began ranking districts from November 2025 onward.

All hundred districts have finalized District Agriculture Plans (DAP) and are actively executing them. Review committees operate at the national, state and district levels. By August 2026, every district had submitted its August output‑indicator data and the FY 2025‑26 result‑indicator figures.

A central nodal officer conducts frequent progress reviews, providing guidance and corrective measures. The Public Enterprises Department has earmarked Central Public Sector Enterprises to adopt DDK districts under their CSR initiatives for FY 2026‑27 and 2027‑28.

The average district score under the six‑objective framework rose from 18.85 in April 2026 to 46.89 in August 2026, reflecting a 28‑point improvement.

In addition to infrastructure development, the scheme fostered platforms for farmers and farmer‑producer organisations (FPOs) to share experiences. The December 2025 PM‑DDK FPO Confluence saw participation from more than 72 FPOs across 33 districts in 15 states.

Key topics included natural farming techniques, oilseed cultivation, apiculture, protected horticulture, micro‑irrigation, institutional financing and the use of digital tools in agriculture, all aimed at boosting yields and farmer incomes.
