During the ongoing Special Campaign 6, the Department of Posts released a progress report highlighting advances in waste management and fiscal returns.

The agency’s targets encompass addressing 150,000 public grievances, adjudicating 1,500 appeals and executing cleanliness drives at 135,000 venues nationwide.

As of 16 Oct, cleanliness measures have been implemented at 73,814 sites, roughly 55 % of the total plan.

The Ministry of Communication confirmed that 100,214 complaints (about 67 % of the target) and 764 appeals (about 51 % of the target) have been resolved.

Since 2 Oct 2026, the post office has processed 306,026 kg of general scrap, yielding a revenue of ₹6.756 million.

In the electronic‑waste segment, 17,980 kg have been processed, bringing in ₹2.764 million, demonstrating a commitment to environmentally sound disposal of outdated electronics.

A creative reuse effort in West Bengal saw senior managers and multi‑tasking staff refurbish a senior manager’s chamber at the Mail Motor Service centre in Kolkata using reclaimed timber, showcasing the “waste‑to‑value” principle.

The department also rolled out ‘DigiPost’, a hybrid physical‑digital service that transmits traffic e‑challans issued by Gujarat police to citizens in printed form via the postal network, emphasizing the synergy between digital issuance and physical delivery.
