Emirates Airlines has implemented a ban on the use of power banks during flights. This decision has surprised many travelers who rely on power banks to charge their phones and other gadgets. This policy shift raises questions about the reasons behind the ban. Is it purely for passenger safety, or are there other contributing factors?
Under the new Emirates policy, passengers can carry only one power bank, with a crucial caveat: the power bank’s capacity must be less than 100 watt-hours (Wh). It’s essential for the capacity to be clearly indicated on the power bank. While carrying the power bank is permitted, its use during the flight is prohibited.
