How To Play Quordle?
For beginners, here’s how to play Quordle: simply type words to start. You need to guess four five-letter words in nine attempts. The key is to guess all four words simultaneously.
If you correctly place a letter in any of the four words, it will turn green. If a word contains a letter from your guess but is in the wrong position, it will show up in yellow. You can try the practice games before tackling the daily puzzle.
Quordle History
Freddie Meyer created Quordle in 2022, inspired by Wordle and Dordle. Merriam-Webster acquired the game in January 2023.
Engineer David Mah developed the Quordle prototype initially. Freddie Meyer then adapted Mah’s prototype.
He drew inspiration from Dordle, where players solve two grids simultaneously. Quordle launched in February 2022 and rapidly gained a million players within weeks.
Merriam-Webster purchased Quordle in January 2023 for an undisclosed sum. Greg Barlow, the company’s president, said the game was “a favourite” among employees and called it “a great addition” to the site’s game selection.
