In a bid to compete in the large-battery smartphone market, Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, is reportedly developing a new phone equipped with a substantial 8,500mAh to 9,000mAh battery. This development follows the trend set by other Chinese manufacturers like Honor and Xiaomi, who are focusing on devices with extended battery life. The use of advanced silicon-carbon technology allows these companies to increase battery capacity without significantly increasing the phone’s thickness. Redmi is aiming to incorporate a high-capacity battery without compromising the battery cycle life, while maintaining a thickness of under 8.5mm. If these claims are accurate, this phone will feature the largest battery in Redmi’s current smartphone lineup.
