Electronics Export Basket Dominated by Smartphones at 65% Share

India’s electronics export landscape was heavily skewed toward smartphones in the April‑June window of FY2026‑27. Out of $15.2 billion worth of electronic goods shipped abroad, smartphones accounted for 64.8%, highlighting the sector’s pivotal contribution. The overall growth of 23.4% in smartphone exports was driven by heightened overseas demand, especially from the United States, where Indian‑made devices enjoyed a price advantage. The rise in smartphone share also reflects the broader success of the ‘Made in India’ initiative, which saw an 8% increase in domestic production and a 28% jump in export volumes for the year 2025.
