SpiceJet Seeks Emergency Credit Line Support Amid Financial Strain

Facing dwindling cash reserves, a shrinking fleet and a loss of domestic market share, SpiceJet is exploring financing under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS). The government recently expanded ECLGS to version 5.0, earmarking ₹5,000 crore for the aviation sector. The airline hopes the scheme will provide the liquidity needed to restore its balance sheet and resume growth.
