Tata Advanced Systems rolls out first India‑made C‑295, marking defence milestone

The first C‑295 aircraft assembled in India left the final‑assembly line in May and successfully completed its maiden flight on June 10.

The flight was greeted with congratulations from the Indian Air Force, which hailed it as a landmark in the nation’s journey toward defence self‑sufficiency.

TASL’s state‑of‑the‑art facility in Vadodara is a tangible demonstration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a self‑reliant India, according to Naidu.

With production well under way, the plant will also support a dedicated maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hub at the upcoming Dholera airport, further strengthening the aerospace ecosystem.
