WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform owned by Meta, has launched a new AI-powered feature called ‘Writing Help.’ This feature is designed to help users refine the tone and style of their messages while maintaining privacy. Using Meta’s Private Processing technology, the feature offers suggestions to rephrase messages in various styles, such as professional, funny, or supportive. The feature is optional and disabled by default. Users can enable it from the settings. Currently, it’s rolling out in English across the United States and selected countries, with plans for expansion to more languages and regions later this year. To use the feature, a pencil icon will appear when composing a message. Tapping or clicking it will open a pop-up with alternative versions of the text. Users can choose a suggestion or edit further.
