Ahead of the iPhone 17 Series launch, Apple is gearing up for a major upgrade to its search experience for users. The company aims to advance in the field of artificial intelligence and is secretly preparing to launch a competitor to ChatGPT. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple has established a team named Answer, Knowledge, and Information to create an AI chatbot capable of answering users’ every query.
Interestingly, this development comes despite previous comments from senior Apple executives who downplayed the need for chatbot-style AI. Now, the company is determined to extend its AI strategy beyond its existing Apple Intelligence platform, which primarily offers tools like Genmoji, notification summaries, and writing suggestions. To date, Apple Intelligence has not met the expectations of many users, especially considering the delay of over a year in major Siri upgrades.
