46 Nations Join New Telecom Scam Prevention Alliance

An unprecedented coalition of 46 founding members launched an International Alliance to fight telecom and internet fraud on September 10 in Lianyungang, China. The meeting also saw participation from 34 observer states and major bodies such as the United Nations and Interpol.

Key speakers from China, Vietnam, Laos, Kenya, Cambodia, Pakistan and Russia highlighted the shared responsibility to curb the surge of telecom scams. Interpol conveyed its congratulations, noting the alliance’s alignment with international law‑enforcement goals.

The collective statement affirmed that telecom fraud is a global menace demanding a more focused, professional and action‑oriented inter‑governmental framework. It emphasized the alliance’s role in protecting citizens, businesses and legal entities from cross‑border fraud.

All parties expressed strong trust in the alliance’s capacity to deliver practical outcomes and pledged ongoing collaboration to stem the spread of cyber‑enabled scams.
