Anti‑Narcotics Units Intensify Operations, Confiscate Massive Drug Supplies

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that anti‑narcotics squads carried out simultaneous raids in twelve Afghan provinces, apprehending sixty suspects and confiscating a total of 29 kilograms of narcotics.

Additional sweeps in Helmand and Ghazni provinces uncovered an extra 23,000 kilograms of precursor material used for drug manufacturing. Though the ministry withheld details about arrests related to these finds, officials reiterated a zero‑tolerance stance toward drug production, trafficking, and distribution.

These actions follow a series of recent busts, including the destruction of over 2.5 tonnes of narcotics in Takhar province on August 27, where authorities eliminated thousands of kilograms of opium, charas and methamphetamine.
