A 19-year-old from Arizona, Renna O’Rourke, has died after participating in the ‘dusting’ trend on social media. Her father stated that her boyfriend acquired an aerosol keyboard cleaner without their knowledge, which she then inhaled. This led to cardiac arrest and ultimately, after four days in the ICU, doctors declared her brain dead. ‘Dusting,’ also known as ‘huffing’ or ‘chroming,’ involves inhaling household cleaners for a brief high, but poses a severe risk of heart failure. Renna’s family is now raising awareness about the dangers of this trend, urging parents to monitor their children’s activities and surroundings. A GoFundMe page has been created to help with medical bills and therapy costs.
