Baghei likens US’s Fuel Price Attack to Hitler’s Pre‑War Justifications

Ismail Baghei, the voice of Iran’s foreign ministry, used the X social media platform to criticize the United States for labeling Iran as the source of rising fuel prices. Baghei asserted that the United States’ own war, which resulted in the blockage of the Hormuz Strait, is the root cause of the oil market turmoil. He invoked the 1939 German invasion of Poland, stating that the same narrative of “self‑defence” was used then, and is being reused now by Washington to deflect responsibility. Baghei concluded that assigning blame to Iran after sparking the conflict is not strategic insight but a clear demonstration of foolishness, echoing historical precedents of aggressive powers rewriting history.
